Tom was promoted to lead a team of seven of his colleagues. He was the rising star of his department. Tom showed initiative, he was technically competent and an extremely high performer. The third mode of intervention is Action Learning, in which individual or a small team of senior managers are involved in a work project in which they are challenged to develop new skills and approaches to leadership and management individually and as a group. In Action Learning, each individual works with their team, their manager, and an assigned coach throughout the duration of the project. The aim is to build strategic leadership capabilities to lead the organization and its people effectively.
